Although unsigned this charming poster is most likely the work of Firmin Bouisset. It makes a perfect pair with lot 10, which bears his name. The soft colors and the way the toys are drawn are very similar. Like the previous lot, this poster was most likely intended to advertise a department store. Camis was a huge printing plant, located on the Boulevard de Strasbourg, in the heart of Paris' printing neighborhood. They claimed to have the biggest lithographic presses in the world and, judging from pictures that have survived, it might well have been true. Camis' main artists, Firmin Bouisset, Albert Guillaume and Francisco Tamagno all had broad public appeal through their easy, realistic and appealing style.
